On January 13th at 8PM KST, the last two episodes of Fantasy Spot were aired. Episode 7 “The End or the Beginning” and episode 8 “The Choice I Make for Myself” brought the series to its short but satisfying conclusion. On Instagram, Hani posted a few behind the scene moments, saying bye to Fantasy Spot and to her character, Heejae. Sunho, who played Inchan (Heejae’s love interest), made a similar post with pictures of Hani.
Before the last two episodes aired, Sublime also shared photos of Hani from Fantasy Spot‘s wrap party. In the attached article, Hani thanked fans and hoped that the joy of being on set was conveyed to the viewers.

Before Fantasy Spot began airing episodes, a short synopsis of the show’s premise was revealed. Heejae was described as a “warm, friendly, and considerate person” who is “surrounded by people who claim to know and love her.” The problem was that Heejae did not understand herself. Through an opportunity at work to host a sex counseling podcast with her best friend and coworker Mina, Heejae began a journey to know herself by helping others. This became the basis for each episode. Listeners would anonymously confide about topics involving sex, masturbation, menstruation, pregnancy, etc., and that would become the lesson that either Heejae, Mina, or both women would learn more about through new experiences.
Spoilers ahead!
In episode 8, Heejae and Mina tackle one last topic on their podcast: what if someone’s choice is to not have sex? To summarize, Heejae responded that once we stop caring so much about what others think, we can be liberated to do what we want—whether that’s to have sex or not. This theme came up later in the episode when Heejae rejected Inchan. She said, in the past, she wasn’t confident enough to tell people what she liked or didn’t like and that what she needed right now is not a relationship. This scene was a huge indicator of how much Heejae had grown since the first episode.

As Fantasy Spot is the first Korean drama of it’s kind to talk about and show the sexual lives of women so candidly, it will help break taboos surrounding these topics and leave viewers with a more open mind. Conversations that were usually held in private, or not at all, are slowly seeing the light. In a YouTube interview to promote Fantasy Spot, Hani mentioned that “all of the things that I had been talking about with my [EXID] members were in the script.” Many Coupang Play viewers agreed, one comment going as far as to say that Fantasy Spot “is not a drama. It is education content for lovers and couples across the country!” The show also currently has 9.5/10 stars from over 3,000 ratings on its Rakuten Viki page.
Fantasy Spot ended on a scene of Heejae and Mina starting up the podcast again in a new setting. Mina reads, “Here’s to women having the right to be satisfied.” In more ways than one, Fantasy Spot teaches viewers that the best satisfaction is the one we seek out by being honest and learning about ourselves as we try to navigate through life.
